TNR Tuesday! 😸

(Trap Neuter Release)

I set a trap in the barn hoping to capture the raccoon 🦝 that’s been after my chickens but to my surprise caught this guy instead! 🐈

I had spotted him a few times on my property over the last year but honestly thought he had either moved on or got hit by a car or eaten by a coyote. So finding him in the trap this morning was not a part of my plan for my day nor was getting to the Animal Protective Leauge by 8am to get him fixed but that’s exactly what happened.

He is completely feral and definitely doesn’t need to add to the already huge population of unwanted cats in this world. Getting him to the TNR program was the right thing to do and will give me piece of mind when I release him tomorrow. Whether he chooses to stick around my farm as a mouser or if he decides to move on the one thing he won’t be doing is making more kitties! 🐾❤️🐱

My Dudley would be in trouble for raiding the cafeteria for snacks, Birdie would be in trouble for back talking the teacher, and my Edna would be caught destroying school property 🐷🤣🤦🏼‍♀️.

It’s hummingbird season! If you choose to put out feeders for these amazing little creatures please please please DO NOT ADD RED FOOD COLORING! 🙅🏼‍♀️☠️ It is toxic and completely unnecessary. Also be sure to change out the nectar every few days so it doesn’t grow bacteria and other nasty stuff that can make the birds sick.
