Pure Enjoyment is coming up fast! We love partnering with Brewer Science for our October exhibition!

Throughout history, the world’s greatest scientists have also been accomplished artists … and vice versa. So it’s fitting that from their position at the forefront of microprocessor technology, Brewer Science should also be dedicated to nurturing a love of the arts in their employees, customers, and community. They believe that creativity is at the heart of all innovation, whether it occurs in a scientist’s lab or an artist’s studio.

Brewer Science’s commitment to art comes right from its founder, Dr. Terry Brewer, and his wife, Paula Brewer, who is an accomplished artist. In fact, visitors to the Brewer Science campus are greeted by one of Paula Brewer’s works — a large wooden sculpture of a hawk in flight, which is the company’s emblem. Dr. Brewer has been recognized with a philanthropy award from the Missouri Arts Council for his enthusiastic support of the state’s art community.

“Innovation and creativity inspire both artists and scientists; those qualities are vital to discovery,” says Dr. Brewer. “They apply to every aspect of our business, and our professional and personal lives are better when we embrace art.”

The in-person portion of “Pure Enjoyment” will open with a public reception during First Friday Art Walk on October 2 from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm and will remain on display at The Creamery Arts Center throughout the month of October.

The Springfield Regional Arts Council is pleased to announce the 2026 Art Festival Workshop! Led by local artist Linda Passeri, this workshop will cover everything from the application process to the ideal booth setup and everything in between – anything an artist interested in applying for upcoming festivals or fairs needs to know! This year, we are excited to split the workshop into two parts. You can sign up for one part or for both as different material will be covered in both sections.

The first session for the workshop will be on Thursday, October 8, 2026, from 5:30-7:30 pm at The Creamery Arts Center. This will cover general information relating to art fairs & festivals in addition to how to apply to art fairs and festivals.

The second session will be on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 2-4 pm at The Creamery Arts Center. This will cover how to photograph your artwork, how to go about setting up a display, and how to prepare for an art fair and festival after you've been accepted.

Seating will be limited. To reserve your spot for one or both parts of the workshop, please email [email protected] prior to October 7. Please specify which workshop session, or both if you want to attend both, you want to attend. The workshops will take place at The Creamery Arts Center at 411 N. Sherman Parkway. This workshop is free for Springfield Regional Arts Council Members and only $20 for Non- Members.

What a great First Friday Art Walk at the Creamery! We had our exhibition opening for two shows in the gallery: “Ozarks Icons” and “Bad Art by Good People.” This exhibition is unique because we do two shows in tandem! Thank you so much to the McQueary Family for sponsoring these shows and making them possible. This show is also unique because we do cash awards judged by the McQueary family themselves! We have announced the award winners below, as well as a People’s Choice award that our attendees participated in during the show. Thank you so much to all of our artists for filling the gallery with your work, and thank you to those who came out to support our artists. We’re eternally grateful to be a hub for the arts.

We've got over 90 pieces of art in the Creamery Arts Center Gallery, and we can't wait for you to see! We'll have snacks, beverages, music by Lyal Strickland, and lots and lots of art!

Lyal Strickland will be playing for our "Bad Art By Good People" and "Ozarks Icons" Exhibition Openings for September First Friday Art Walk! Lyal is gracing us with his talents the day before heading to the High-Lonesome Music Festival in Ava, Missouri. If you can't catch the festival, come on by the Creamery Arts Center to see him. FREE to enter, along with snacks, drinks, and lots of amazing art to look at!

Meet Ally. You may recognize her from her signature laughing wheeze in the background of our blooper reels.
Officially, she's our Communications Coordinator but in reality, she's our resident trend forecaster, visual storyteller and creative problem solver. A photographer for more than a decade, Ally has always had an eye for finding beauty in the ordinary but she also possesses an uncanny ability to just make things REALLY good. As a Virgo with a Leo rising she sweats the details, has impeccable creative instincts and somehow manages to even make a 30-second reel feel thoughtful.
Whether she's photographing a wedding, designing a campaign, or convincing the rest of us to trust a trend we haven't heard of yet, Ally reminds us that creativity isn't about chasing what's popular - it's about helping people see the world a little differently.
