Nine38 - E97 - Missionary to Portugal | Mark Hale

Join host Mike Hillhouse as he sits down with Mark Hale for a conversation about God's work in Portugal and the opportunities to reach people with the Gospel. Mark shares his journey to the mission field, the unique challenges and blessings of ministry in Portugal, and how the Lord is opening doors for evangelism and church planting. Hear firsthand stories from the field, learn about the spiritual needs of the Portuguese people, and discover how churches and believers can pray for and support the work being done across the country.

Whether you're interested in missions, considering God's call to ministry, or simply want to be encouraged by what God is doing around the world, this episode offers a valuable look into the life and ministry of a BBFI missionary serving in Europe. The Nine38 Podcast exists to highlight missions and encourage believers to pray for laborers as commanded in Matthew 9:38.

Today we celebrate and honor Jill Wolf for 11 years of faithful service, dedication, and tireless work at the BBFI Missions Office. Jill’s impact has reached far beyond the office walls — touching missionaries, missionary kids, churches, and families around the world.

Through her leadership and vision, "Kidz 4 Missions" was developed, promoted, and continually improved to better connect and inspire the next generation for missions. Her passion for excellence helped make the ministry stronger year after year.

Jill also played a vital role in Project 938 by managing scheduling, coordinating promotion and communication, organizing podcast scheduling, and handling countless emails and articles that helped keep missionaries and supporters informed and connected.

Her work with The Bridge and The Missionary Connection helped create a professional and effective line of communication for BBFI Missions. Through articles, pictures, and Global Partners updates, Jill helped tell the stories of what God is doing around the world and kept our fellowship connected.

One of Jill’s greatest ministries has been her love and care for Missionary Kids. She helped develop programs specifically for MKs and invested personally in their lives through encouragement, communication, reentry resources, VBS involvement, birthdays, ministry trips, stuffed animals, and ongoing support. She connected with parents, communicated faithfully with MKs, and worked alongside schools like Liberty University and others to help provide opportunities and care. Many MKs simply wanted to see Jill because they knew she genuinely cared for them.

In addition, Jill faithfully served in countless other areas including the golf tournament, missionary home maintenance, documentary research and script work, Disaster Relief and Global meetings, Judea Samaria loans, mail scanning for WIN, serving as backup support for Wendi, and so many other behind-the-scenes tasks whenever help was needed.

The true measure of Jill’s ministry is not just in the work she accomplished, but in the people she encouraged, the missionaries she strengthened, and the lives she impacted through her servant’s heart.

Thank you, Jill, for your dedication, hard work, compassion, and faithful service to our missionaries, their children, and the entire BBFI family. Your investment in missions has made an eternal difference, and your legacy will continue for years to come.

Congratulations on your retirement, and may God richly bless you in this next season of life.
