The Cardologist

The last one out! What a great, fun day this has been. Conveniently, it sports a California plate….it is heading home.

It’s a fun day to be curbside today Downtown. The Great Race lining up at the start gate, which is 2 blocks north, between Washington and Jefferson.

It is double brown dog day at The Cardologist today. Mr. Dexter and Mr. Prince share the spotlight. I brought Dex so I could keep an eye on him, post-U of I chemo yesterday. His tail is still curled and in an upright position.

Shadow’s favorite position. Maybe she is bored with being shop dog, even though she has seen some fans today.

Shadow is the store doggy today. We will wait out the stormy end of the world together today. Shadow is making great progress. Her medicated baths and supplements have done wonders for clearing up her dandruff and skin issues. It will take time for the naked patches to begin to fill in again. She has begun to understand the concept of a doggy door, that magical portal to the world outside. She is a long-legged senior sweetie. Stop in and meet her today. She has a couple of health issues to address, a dental if feasible, but will be available for possible adoption to a suitable home through Friends of Sangamon County Animal Control. She would love a warm place to land.

Dex and his driver, Joe, are off to U of I for treatment #4. Thank you Joe, for taking the little guy today so that I can be behind the counter at The Cardologist.

A customer earlier today cashed in a stack of older punch cards for a free card. This at least 35 year old substitute for a punch card was in the mix. Back in the day, when I was late doing punch card print orders, I would use a business card of mine, or of Todd’s, as a stand in. The Cardologist left the 219 address (currently Jimmy John’s) in 1991.

Too easy?

Today has sort of been bath day at the Camp, at least for two pups. This is Shadow. Well, Shadow Too, since one Shadow is already on the Camp roster. Shadow is a foster from Animal Control. We picked her up on Wednesday on our way back into town from U of I and Dexter’s chemo treatment. Shadow has some uncomfortable skin issues, so she is getting one of her medicated baths today. Picked up as a stray, Shadow is 14, and very timid and sweet. She could be adoptable soon to the right patient person. Happy Flag, and Bath, Day.
