Before you choose an EMDR training, here’s what we’d want you to know.

EMDR is not just a protocol to be performed correctly. It’s learning to sit with another human being while memory, emotion, the nervous system, and the relationship between you are all moving at once. Scripts alone won’t carry you through that.

In our EMDRIA-approved Basic Training, you’ll learn the eight phases, the procedures, and the foundations you need to practice responsibly and effectively. You’ll also learn how to think about what you’re doing. How to recognize what’s happening when processing gets complicated or stuck. How to stay oriented when the person in front of you doesn’t fit the manual. How to use the therapeutic relationship without losing the structure that makes EMDR so powerful.

We want you to leave knowing what to do next, and understanding why you’re doing it.

If that’s the EMDR therapist you want to become, we’d love to train with you. The October 12–16 cohort is open. If you’re still weighing your options, book a 15-minute fit call with Bridger or Jen (link in bio). We’ll tell you plainly whether we’re the right training for you.

“Memory doesn’t belong to just my mind.”

Dr. Sarah Schubert, minutes after her EMDRIA Conference 2026 keynote, on memory as something distributed across time, place, objects, and people, and what that means for phase two: not building a resource from scratch, but connecting to the resilience that is already there.

Full conversation with Sarah is live. Link in bio. Notes from the Hall No. 3 from the Notice That podcast.

Turns out therapy doesn't actually require perfect posture🙃

When your marketing strategy is reassuring people they don’t have to book with you… and offering your friend’s number instead. 😂

Lilly (Lilly | EMDR Consultant & Business Coach) joins Bridger on Notice That for an honest—and very funny—conversation about what happens when therapists have to talk about their work, charge for it, and let themselves be seen.

Apparently, “my friend is actually really great” is not our strongest closing pitch.

At some point, “learning more” can start to feel a whole lot like knowing less. 😂

EMDR. IFS. Somatic work. Attachment. Neuroscience. Another book. Another training. Another really good idea.

And then you sit down with an actual person and think:

Okay… but what am I actually doing here?

That’s one of the problems SIP was built to address.

Not by giving you one more model to memorize, but by helping you build a coherent way of thinking across the models you already use so you can track the client, the nervous system, the memory network, the relationship, and yourself in the room without losing the thread.

We just released a new video about what SIP actually is, along with a completely refreshed SIP page.

And yes, there’s another training coming. 😏

Also: hi, Kelly. We knew you’d see this. 😂

You know the eight phases. You understand EMDR.

And then a couple sits down in front of you. 😅

Suddenly there are two nervous systems, two attachment histories, two sets of protective strategies—and a relationship happening in real time.

So how do we hold all of that while still practicing EMDR with integrity?

That’s what we’ll explore in EMDR with Couples and Families: Two Nervous Systems. One Framework.

Over six monthly sessions, we’ll look at how the eight phases shift and expand when there’s more than one person in the therapy room—with clinical application, case discussion, and plenty of space for the complexity that doesn’t fit neatly into a protocol.

We begin October 7. I’d love to have you join me.
