Our Vision: Make-It Springfield supports the creative needs of a diverse Springfield community. Its dynamic, eclectic learning environment invites people of any background or skill level to explore and create, while promoting inclusion and collaboration in all forms of culture, art, and technology. Our Mission: Make-It Springfield provides space, tools, and vision, especially for low- and moderate-income individuals and families, to explore and work on creative projects. Make-It Springfield provides a multicultural home that invites creativity, invention, and artistic experimentation through dialogue, collaboration, and the sharing of skills and ideas. Our Goals: Provide physical space for individuals, groups, and families to explore and work on creative projects. -- Encourage exchange among people with diverse abilities, ideas, perspectives, and lifestyles. -- Inspire the creative spark that promotes vision, experimentation, growth, and development. -- Provide a restorative escape for inspiration and creative contemplation. -- Promote growth and community in downtown Springfield. -- Foster the highest ideals of tolerance and inclusion. Make-It Springfield is a 501c3 organization that started as a one month pop-up makerspace; a collaboration between MassDevelopment’s Transformative Development Initiative [TDI], the UMASS Design Center in Springfield, and the Springfield Business Improvement District.

Make-It Springfield will be Closed September 7th, in observance of Labor Day 2026! During our 10th year of thriving!..

Mike visited us for the first time today. He says “This is my first day and being here makes me wanna be here more often!”He picked up a bike from RadSpringfield today, made a donation and helped out in the bike shop for a couple hours. Thanks Mike!

The MassMutual Foundation is a key supporter of Make-It Springfield and we appreciate their renewed operations funding with us this summer! Their support helps us sustain free and low cost access to creative opportunities, resources, networks and community for people of all ages and abilities. We are so grateful for our community of makers - and equally grateful for the funders and supporters who help us make it happen!

Make-It and RadSpringfield have been serving the community for 10 YEARS!! Enjoy this RAD feature in the news today! Thank you to our current volunteer techs, Max and Noah, all our past volunteers, and all the awesome customers and visitors of all ages. Bring in those ADULT BIKE DONATIONS! We need them!
