The Enon Branch kicked off the summer reading program with a visit from the Collins family. The local couple, Mike and Erica Collins did not disappoint. Their friend Roger made an appearance again this year to get the event started. Traditional children's songs were transformed into dinosaur themed songs, and children joined Mrs. Collins and the pink dinosaur who played guitar singing and acting out the following tunes: Head, Claws, Tails, and Feet, Dinos on the bus, D-I-N-O -Saur, Five Little Triceratops, and Dinosaur Pokey. Mrs. Collins also shared pictures and facts about different dinosaurs and read the story How Do Dinosaurs Play with Their Friends? by Jane Yolen. At the end, children could come up and meet the pink dinosaur and receive a sticker and mini dinosaur to take home. Roger was available for a fist bump or his famous hair tickle kisses if anyone wanted. The pink dinosaur then left the building and walked back to his time period.
