Toastmaster Daniel Oke retired from the US Air Force Friday. Here are some pictures from the event. Toastmaster Nancy Flinchbaugh was fortunate to attend, meet his family, hear his coworkers talk about all his accomplishments. And now he's on to a new job in Newport News, VA. Smiles all around. Congratulations, Daniel!
Daniel also gave an awesome speech, doing Springfield Toastmasters proud!

This afternoon, 4-7, is the Ridgewood Ridgewood Neighborhood Market. A collection of food trucks and vendors in a grassy area in my neighborhood. There will be a Halloween Costume Contest from 6-6:30. The GPS location is 1800 Pembrook. I will be there with my books, and you can get a couple photo greeting cards or a pair of earrings with a book purchase. Come visit! Great gift ideas. I write for peace, justice and the earth! Here's a link to the event! Come visit me and let me know what you're up to these days. https://www.facebook.com/share/XjduZopkj3URF1vm/

Here's a new episode of the Writing for Change podcast in which Toastmaster Nancy Flinchbaugh interviews a fellow classmate from Belmont High School Class of 1973 Dayton, Ohio. Chris spent his career in Alaska where he was an author, photojournalist, guide for those traveling, fishing and hunting. In this first session with him they discuss his early influences that changed him, leading him into a life connecting with nature in the last frontier. Watch or listen at these links:
