The goal is not for foster parents to “win.” The goal is for children to be safe, loved, and connected to family whenever possible. Reunification can be complicated. It can be emotional. It can be hard to watch from the outside.

But when it is safe, it matters. Supporting reunification does not mean ignoring harm. It means understanding that kids often want their family and their safety. Both can be true. Adults can survive that complexity. Probably. With coffee.

Reunification is not a foster parent losing. It is a child possibly getting to go home safely. If that sentence bothers someone, they may need to sit quietly with a juice box and reflect.
