When trials, temptations, or unseen doubts weigh heavily, our immediate instinct is often to rely on our own willpower, intelligence, or emotional fortitude. But natural tools are utterly insufficient against spiritual opposition.

Notice a profound truth in this verse: the eternal fire was originally prepared for the devil and his angels—not for human beings. God’s original desire for humanity is relationship, life, and redemption in Christ.

Growing up in Iran, Maryam Rostampour-Keller lived under a regime where sharing Christian beliefs was strictly forbidden. Yet, at age 17, a small booklet containing excerpts from the Gospel of Luke transformed her life in her own bedroom.

Overwhelmed by Christ’s love and forgiveness, Maryam couldn't keep the truth to herself. She teamed up with her friend Marziyeh to covertly deliver over 20,000 New Testaments across Tehran under the cover of night.

Their bold faith ultimately led to their arrest, severe interrogation, and imprisonment in Tehran's brutal Evin Prison—where they were sentenced to death. Yet even in a dark prison cell, their faith burned bright.

"I met Jesus in my room, and I believe that He chose me... That encounter that I had with Jesus is the foundation of my faith throughout all the years—whether I went through difficult times with my family or later in prison... It's still that encounter that is the foundation of my faith."
