Happy Birthday to the Mensch who took a chance on two young goyim and their 2 yr/old, who moved into his apartment building carrying little more than a college dorm trunk.
Before long, a black-and-white television appeared. Food arrived. Gifts flowed into our small flat. But even more valuable were the things money could never buy—his strength, kindness, endless ability to solve problems, and the rich conversations that helped create a secure foundation for me during my studies for an M.A. in Hebrew Language.
The difficult days he endured as a child have never been far from our hearts. Yet those experiences intended for evil, were turned around and shaped the remarkable man, husband, father, and neighbor he became. His influence on our lives is impossible to measure and will remain with us forever.
Yom Huledet Sameach, Father Avraham! You truly do have many sons—and I am honored to be one of them. With much love, Gal/Wave
Why did Jesus, at times, “just say the word” rather than enter the home of a Gentile and heal in-person?
In this teaching, we explore how Jesus and Paul navigated Jewish concerns about entering Gentile homes, drawing from the Hebrew Bible, Second Temple Judaism, and oral traditions.
Understanding this cultural and biblical background sheds new light on faith, purity, and the remarkable barriers Jesus crossed to bring healing and salvation to a variety of groups of people.

WHAT IF archaeology could introduce you to one of the Apostle Paul’s friends?
While standing in ancient Corinth, we discovered the famous ERASTUS inscription—believed to reference the same Erastus mentioned by Paul in Romans 16:23 as the city treasurer of Corinth.
This find reminds us that the people, places, and events of the Bible are rooted in REAL history. Watch how archaeology continues to illuminate the truth of Scripture.
