🤠 Cowboy Chronicles: The Final Chapter 🤠

It’s been nine weeks since our last Cowboy update, and we think this one was worth the wait. ❤️

Cowboy came to us from animal control and has been working hard with K9s for Camo. He’s doing so well with his training and has even been getting out for public outings!

It makes us so happy to see how far this boy has come and all the things he is learning along the way. We are so proud of you, Cowboy! 🥹🐾

Thank you to Howliday Pet Resort and K9s for Camo for giving this sweet boy the time, training, and opportunities to thrive. We can’t wait to see what’s next for Cowboy! ❤️

They are ready and waiting for a warm bed, some love, and a soft place to land while they search for their forever homes. Fostering doesn't mean forever. It just means "for now" and we provide all the supplies, food, and vet care along the way. All we need is YOU! 💛

TIP TUESDAY: Helping Your Dog Adjust to a New Routine!

Back-to-school season doesn’t just change our schedules. This season can change our dogs’ routines, too! ⏰

After a summer filled with people being home more often, later mornings, vacations, and extra attention, a suddenly quieter house can be a big adjustment for some dogs.

A few simple things can help make the transition a little easier:

1. Start transitioning early. Gradually adjust feeding, walks, potty breaks, and alone time to match the new schedule.

2. Get those wiggles out! A walk, play session, or some enrichment before everyone heads out can help your dog settle afterward.

3. Keep goodbyes simple. As tempting as it is to give them a 10-minute speech about how much you’ll miss them, keeping departures calm and low-key can make leaving feel like a normal part of the day.

Most importantly, give them time. Changes in routine can take a little getting used to.

- Has not been around cats or kiddos but has not presented signs that there would be issues.
- He is currently located in Saint Charles, Missouri, but transportation is available.

He is a little quiet gentleman who gets excited to see his people and LOVES soft pillows and blankets. PotRoast needs a special family to help him finish navigating his health journey.
