Facilitating Healing | Restoring Hope

Two things can be true at the same time.

You can love someone deeply and still acknowledge the ways you were hurt.
You can understand someone’s story and still need boundaries.
You can feel afraid and still move forward.

Healing often happens when we stop forcing ourselves into “either/or” thinking and begin making space for “and.”

Both can exist.
Your feelings can coexist.
Your experiences can coexist.

And you are allowed to hold compassion for others while also caring for yourself. 🤍

Burnout doesn’t always look like a breakdown. Sometimes it looks like functioning on autopilot, feeling emotionally numb, constantly exhausted, or becoming irritated by things you normally handle well.

You might be experiencing burnout if you:
• Feel tired no matter how much you rest
• Feel emotionally detached or overwhelmed
• Struggle to focus or stay motivated
• Feel anxious, irritable, or overstimulated
• Dread responsibilities you used to manage well
• Feel like you’re constantly “on” with no time to recover

Burnout is often a sign that you’ve been carrying too much for too long without enough support, rest, or care.

You deserve more than survival mode.

Therapy can help you slow down, process what’s weighing on you, and create healthier rhythms moving forward.

Most people can name what they love without hesitation:
their kids, their spouse, their family, their friends.

But when it comes to naming themselves… there’s often a pause.

Not because it’s untrue—
but because it’s unfamiliar.

Many of us were never taught to see ourselves as worthy of that kind of care, attention, or love. So we give it away to everyone else and slowly lose connection with ourselves in the process.

Part of healing is learning to include yourself in the equation again.

Not last.
Not someday.
Not once everything else is taken care of.

You, too.

Happy Mother’s Day from Restored Counseling 🤍

Today we celebrate all mothers and mother figures- the biological moms, adoptive moms, foster moms, stepmoms, grandmothers, bonus moms, and spiritual moms who love, nurture, and show up every day in countless ways.

We also hold space for the grieving moms, the moms carrying invisible burdens, those longing to become mothers, those navigating strained relationships, and anyone for whom today feels complicated.

Motherhood comes in many forms, and every story matters.

To the women giving love, comfort, strength, sacrifice, patience, and care- whether anyone sees it or not- we see you, and you matter deeply.

We hope today brings moments of peace, appreciation, and love.🤍

Anxious thoughts have a way of pulling us in and making everything feel urgent.

At Restored Counseling, we help clients learn how to respond to anxious thoughts differently. Instead of fighting them or getting swept up in them, you can learn to notice them, allow them, and let them pass.

Like waves in the ocean, anxious thoughts will come and go. The goal isn’t to stop the waves, it’s to build the ability to stay grounded as they move through.

If anxiety feels overwhelming, you don’t have to navigate it alone. We’re here to help.

Self-care isn’t selfish, it’s essential. 🤍

In the middle of busy schedules, responsibilities, and caring for others, it’s easy to forget that your well-being matters too. Small, intentional steps can make a big difference in how you feel mentally and emotionally.

These 7 simple practices are a great place to start when you’re feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or stretched thin. You don’t have to do them all- just choose one and begin there.

✨ Rest
✨ Move your body
✨ Breathe
✨ Unplug
✨ Be kind to yourself
✨ Set boundaries

Healing and growth don’t happen all at once, they happen in the small moments you choose to take care of you.

If you’re needing extra support, we’re here. 🤍

Mondays can feel heavy, but they can also be an invitation to slow down, reset, and care for your heart in a deeper way.

If you're stepping into this week feeling pressure, overwhelm, or self-doubt, take a few quiet moments to reflect:

✨ What would it look like to give myself more grace today?
✨ Where am I placing unrealistic expectations on myself?
✨ What small moment of peace can I create in my day?
✨ How can I redefine “productivity” to include rest and presence?

You don’t have to do it all to be enough.
Sometimes the most meaningful progress looks like breathing deeper, softening your thoughts, and showing yourself compassion.

Take what you need today and leave the rest.

Yesterday, Leslie Bashioum had the honor of presenting Resilience Beyond the Call at the Springfield Police and Fire Training Center.

It was a meaningful opportunity to connect with and support the men and women who serve our community every day. The presentation focused on resilience, mental health, and the often-overlooked transition from the demands of the job back home to family life, an area that can carry its own unique challenges. First responders carry so much, often unseen, and conversations around resilience and sustainable coping are more important than ever.

We are deeply grateful for our local firefighters, law enforcement officers, and all first responders who show up with courage, commitment, and heart. Your dedication does not go unnoticed, and it is a privilege to support you.

Thank you for the work you do to keep our community safe. ❤️

Life doesn’t always come with a clear roadmap. Sometimes we’re just trying to take the next right step in the middle of uncertainty, overwhelm, or pain.

God doesn’t promise to light the entire path at once- but He does promise to guide each step. This verse is a reminder that guidance doesn’t always come all at once, it often shows up as just enough light for the next step forward.

In counseling, we walk with you through those moments—helping you find clarity, direction, and steady footing again.

You don’t have to navigate it alone.
