After years of recreating 1540s Florentine court gowns, Marty set out to explore the practical garments women may have worn beneath their finery. In this fascinating video, she hand sews a historically inspired wrap skirt while testing period construction methods, padded hems, silk guards, and historical finishing techniques.

The biggest surprise? How dramatically the padded hem transformed the skirt's movement, structure, and silhouette—offering new insight into how Renaissance gowns may have been supported.

What happens when a sewing challenge meets a full-blown fandom obsession?

After discovering Witch Hat Atelier, Mina () set out to create Tetia’s iconic cape and hat from scratch. Instead of relying on a commercial pattern, she drafted her own, engineered magnetic closures, created hidden pockets, made hand-bound buttonholes for oversized buttons, and even built a wired witch hat to hold its shape.
