Progressive Maryland is a statewide nonprofit advocacy organization promoting racial, social, economic, and environmental justice. With over 120,000 individual members, supporters, and organizational affiliates statewide, Progressive Maryland leading the fight for progressive change in Maryland through grassroots organizing, public education, and legislative advocacy. Progressive Maryland is building a movement to save our planet and put working people in control of our government and economy while ending all forms of structural oppression within our state. Progressive Maryland provides statewide leadership and coordination in a range of national, state, and regional campaigns. Working together with hundreds of community, religious, labor and other grassroots allies at all levels, we have succeeded in educating the public and building popular support to achieve numerous progressive victories.

Illegal ICE activity has to stop.
Across Maryland, ICE has been making warrantless arrests without probable cause, including boxing people in and dragging them from their cars. That's not law enforcement. That's a violation of the Fourth Amendment.
In response, CASA is taking the Trump administration to court. Guzman v. DHS seeks a preliminary injunction against DHS to stop these unlawful tactics now. This case is about one simple principle: We do not want ICE terrorizing our communities.

We’re sending love and strength to our neighbors in Frederick, especially the immigrant families and community members who are facing fear and uncertainty, and the protesters who showed up to stand with them. More than 100 people gathered in Frederick to oppose ICE activity in their community. According to witnesses, federal officers used force against protesters, with several people reportedly suffering cuts and bruises and some requiring hospitalization. Community members are now calling for a full, transparent investigation into what happened.
We DO NOT want ICE in our communities terrorizing our neighbors. We will keep fighting.

State regulators just approved a $50.9 million rate increase for Pepco, meaning that everyday families in Montgomery and Prince George’s counties are left paying higher electric bills every month.
Cutting an outrageous corporate cash grab down to a medium cash grab isn't holding big corporations accountable. It’s just negotiating the terms of ratepayer exploitation. Working Marylanders don't need victory laps over rising utility costs. We need serious, structural reform.

So let us get this straight...... BGE over-collected millions from customers, and now they are arguing they should not have to give it back? Meanwhile, Maryland families are watching their energy bills climb and being told to find more room in already stretched budgets. Absolutely not!!!
If utilities collect more than they should, that money belongs back in the pockets of the people who paid it. The PSC should stand with ratepayers and demand accountability. People over profit. Every time.
Exelon utilities won't refund $32M to customers, citing a change in state law The Maryland Office of People’s Counsel said the state’s largest utility company should refund its customers. The company said it won’t, and can’t, because of confusing state laws.
