Shuga x Ice has been selected to sample at Giant Food’s headquarters in front of their category managers and buyers. June 17th. Landover, MD.

We went from losing our shop 6 months ago to rebuilding out of a commercial kitchen, and now we’re walking into one of the biggest grocery chains on the East Coast with our pints.

two years ago, we opened our doors for the first time. a small African-inspired ice cream shop in Silver Spring with a big mouth and even bigger dreams. we’ve been through it since then. lost the shop. found a new kitchen. built wings. but May 17th will always be the day this became real 🥹.

so we’re celebrating the only way we know how: with ice cream!!

If you’ve been here, you already know the story…we lost our shop, I cried about it and then I got to work. six months later? we’ve got a brand new commercial kitchen, a whole FIFA World Cup ice cream collection in the works and a pop-up tour that’s about to hit cities across the US.

This year stretched us, grew us, and reminded us just how powerful community is. We’re so grateful for each and every one of you who continues to support, encourage and believe in this vision. Happy Thanksgiving, Shugas.

A month ago, I walked into my shop after learning we had 48 hours to close forever.

No warning. No conversation. Just a sudden shutdown that left many of the 10 small businesses, including mine, without a home. It felt like everything stopped at once.

This past month has been my time to reset, rest, and sit with God about what the continuation of this vision is supposed to look like.

This past month has been my time to reset, rest, and sit with God about what the continuation of this vision is supposed to look like. Honestly…it’s the most I’ve slept in a long time LOL. And in that stillness, I was reminded again and again:

The shop closed, but the vision didn’t. God simply widened the assignment.

Today, I’m officially launching the Shuga x Ice Rebuild Fund. We’re rebuilding bigger: DMV production + pickup, nationwide shipping, a pop-up tour, and eventually our forever home.

Yesterday, we learned that Solaire Social, the food hall that’s been home to Shuga x Ice, will permanently close this Friday, October 24th.

After 7 years of dreaming and 1.5 years of pouring my heart into this space, I’m heartbroken… but not hopeless.

This isn’t the end - just a shift. We’re looking for a new home, new opportunities, and the same community that’s loved us since day one. If you’ve ever loved what we’ve built, please share, tag, and keep believing with us.
