Food Safety Education Month usually means kitchen basics, but for millions living with food allergies, food safety is about much more than that.
From identifying the major food allergens to preventing cross-contact, knowing how to safely navigate food is an important part of managing food allergies. 🍽️

Why the Asthma Outcome Gap Makes an Action Plan Non-Negotiable
Black children are more than 4 times more likely to die from asthma than other children. Not because of anything biological, but because of gaps in housing, air quality, and access to care.
🫁 An Asthma Action Plan won’t fix the system, but it’s one of the most direct tools we have right now to protect the patient in front of us.
Every child deserves a plan. Every family deserves to know how to use it.
This week is Asthma Peak Week, the point in the year when pediatric asthma hospitalizations and ER visits are consistently highest. Ragweed pollen, rising mold counts, and a spike in viral respiratory infections converge right as kids return to school.
As allergists, this is a good moment to review action plans with patients and flag warning signs before an exacerbation becomes an ER visit. 🫁

🌬️ Advancing Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology at !
The Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology Section welcomed attendees for an engaging symposium, “Asthma and Anaphylaxis: Beyond the Guidelines.” 🩺
Led by moderator Dr. Ama Alexis, the session featured expert presentations on food dependent exercise induced anaphylaxis, updated spirometry guidance, GLP 1 agonists in asthma management, the role of community health workers, and venom anaphylaxis. Attendees gained practical, evidence based insights to help improve patient care and outcomes. 💙
Thank you to our outstanding speakers, moderator, and everyone who joined us for a morning of learning, collaboration, and advancing the field together.
