The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program at Northwestern provides a clinical doctorate for baccalaureate or master’s prepared registered nurses who desire to practice at the highest level and significantly impact health care outcomes.
Our hearts break for this family. Our Nurse Anesthesia program and our Nurse Anesthesia student, Will Higginbotham, are humbled and honored to have been a part of this event.
Our Senior Class of 2023 students had a great time at their Regional Skills Lab. They rotated to ultrasound, central line, spinal, and epidural stations and learned to don and doff for sterile procedures. Special thanks to our amazing guest instructors, Mr. Brian Badeaux, CRNA, and Dr. David O'Con, CRNA, for their expertise. Additionally, thanks to a few of our junior NA students for being live models!!

Please join the DNP Administration, Faculty, and Staff in congratulating Jarred Sepulvado, BSN, SRNA (DNP Nurse Anesthesia c/o 2023) for his selection as an AANA Foundation Student Advocate by the AANA Foundation Board of Trustees.
This is a prestigious accomplishment as Jarred is the first NSU student and the first student from Louisiana to be selected for this liaison position.
Congratulations Jarred for being recognized by the AANA Foundation for your passion for "advancing the science of anesthesia through education and research."

End of First Clinical Semester.
The NSULA-DNP Program had quite the eventful couple of weeks with both congratulating our Class of 2023 cohort with completing their first semester of clinicals and welcoming our Class of 2024 cohort as they begin instruction at their respective learning centers in Shreveport and Alexandria. Additionally, some of our Class of 2023 cohort attended the recent AANA 2022 Annual Congress which was held in Chicago, IL.
