🌟 Celebrating Success in Nonprofit Excellence 🌟

Congratulations to the fifteen dedicated professionals of local nonprofit organizations who recently completed the 2023 Nonprofit Capacity Building Cohort in Shreveport! 🎓👏

From fundraising to board development, organizational efficiency to client and staff relationships, these passionate leaders showcased their final projects, highlighting the incredible impact of their 10-month journey. Wendell Riley from Robinson Film Center beautifully summed up the experience: "The cohort was like therapy. It reminds you that there are people out here trying to make the community a better place to live.”

We are so delighted to have had a part in the growth of these phenomenal leaders and organizations. The generous grant from the Carolyn W. and Charles T. Beaird Family Foundation and these individuals' determination made it all possible.

Dr. Heather Carpenter, INAR Executive Director, expressed gratitude for the Beaird Foundation's pivotal role in this initiative and announced an upcoming cohort in partnership with the Community Foundation of North Louisiana. This will provide more opportunities for nonprofits to grow, learn, and enhance their impact in Spring 2024.

The stories shared at the graduation were genuinely inspiring—ranging from meal delivery approaches for seniors by Bossier Council on Aging to internal restructuring at Bossier Arts Council, reviving partnerships, and engaging old donors. Every journey was unique.

Thanks to our fantastic cohort members, invaluable mentors, LSU Shreveport , the Carolyn W. and Charles T. Beaird Family Foundation, and everyone who helped and supported this program.

Let's continue supporting these nonprofits as they continue to make an immense difference in our community. Kudos to all involved! 🌟🤝

Last Thursday, The Institute for Nonprofit Administration & Research - LSUS proudly participated in the unveiling of the Lighthouse initiative at Morning Star Baptist Church of Shreveport. This groundbreaking project aimed to create neighborhood resilience hubs equipped with commercial solar, backup battery, and water supply systems.

Thanks to the support from our community and the fantastic coverage by KSLA News 12, the first hub was successfully launched at Morningstar Baptist Church. The hub stands as a testament to our collective strength and resilience, especially in the face of challenges like the summer storms that left many without power for weeks.

North Louisiana Interfaith, a coalition of congregations and community-based organizations, played a pivotal role in making this initiative a reality. Their dedication to addressing both large and small community issues has been inspiring. Learn more about their impactful work: https://www.nlainterfaith.org/about

Read KSLA News 12 Coverage: https://www.ksla.com/2023/11/03/community-members-celebrate-launch-lighthouse-network/

The journey doesn't end here – other resilience hubs are in the works. Together, we've shown that by supporting one another, we can create a brighter, more resilient future.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this milestone possible! 🙌
