Sebastopol Fire Department

The annual Fireworks & Music Extravaganza put on by the Kiwanis Club of Sebastopol is just a few days away!  The event will be hosted at the Sebastopol Community Cultural Center, 390 Morris Street, and surrounding area, which is a change from the usual location of Analy High School.

Due to the change, parts of Johnson Street and Morris Street will be closed beginning at 2 PM until the event concludes around 10:30 PM.  Johnson Street will be closed north of Sunset Avenue and Morris Street will be closed north of Laguna Park Way.  There will be no parking allowed in those areas beginning at 12 PM on July 3rd.

As a reminder, other than those controlled by the pyrotechnic professionals at the extravaganza, there are no fireworks that are legal in the City of Sebastopol or in unincorporated Sonoma County.  We know, what would Paul Revere say? But them's the rules.  Don't ruin a nice holiday weekend by blowing something up or ending up with a citation.

As always, there will be lots of people in town and lots of traffic after the event.  Slow down, be patient, and be kind to each other.  Let's all make it an enjoyable holiday!

Kitchen catches fire at Sebastopol tea shop A small fire broke out in the vegan tea shop’s kitchen. No injuries were reported.

It's Almost Parade Time!

On Saturday, April 26, 2025, the City of Sebastopol will be holding the annual Apple Blossom Parade. Below you will find information about NO PARKING and ROAD CLOSURES on Saturday.

It will be necessary to post the following streets for "NO PARKING" from 7:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. that day.

The "No Parking" areas will be posted to include the following:

-Petaluma Avenue........ Entire street
-High School Road....... Between East Hurlbut and North Main Street
-Main Street.....................Between Eddie Lane, south to Palm Avenue
-Calder Avenue...............Between S Main Street and Swain Avenue
- High Street.................... Between Bodega Avenue and Calder Avenue
- Willow St (North side only)........Between S Main St and Jewell Ave
- Lynch Road... Between Gravenstein Highway and Pleasant Hill Rd
- Pleasant Hill Road........ Between Lynch Road and Bodega Avenue
- East Hurlbut Avenue.....Entire street
- Wallace Avenue...............Entire street
- Taft Street..........................Entire street
- Bonnardel Avenue.........Entire street
- Sunset Avenue................Entire street

Also, no traffic other than parade traffic will be allowed on the above areas of Main Street, Calder Avenue, High Street, Maple Avenue, and Willow Street between 9:45 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

Eddie Lane will be closed at the west entrance on that date (at North Main Street). The only access to Eddie Lane will be from the east side from Johnson Street.

We are asking the residents who live within the above areas to please assist us in keeping the traffic flowing smoothly by keeping their vehicles off the street from 7:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Thank you for your cooperation.

At 9:30 AM, Petaluma Avenue will convert to two-way traffic from Sebastopol Avenue to Gravenstein Hwy South until the parade’s end. Westbound and northbound traffic from Sebastopol Avenue will be detoured to Lynch Road (see detour map).

Eastbound Bodega Ave at Pleasant Hill Avenue North (Local traffic ok, no through traffic)

Healdsburg Avenue at Covert Lane (Local traffic ok, no through traffic)

The parade will conclude and road closures open around 1:00 PM.
