Lake Pointe Riders

We had a great Third Sunday Ride today, with over 200 bikes and riders!!!! lol! Ok, maybe they weren’t ALL Lakepointe Riders. Anyway, we went out and supported a very noble cause—Bikes for Tykes Teddy Bear Ride. As always it was a great event and we appreciate American Guardians MC for putting it on and a big thanks to all the law enforcement officers/deputies who blocked roads and stopped traffic to keep us all safe.

Reminder—tomorrow is our next Third Sunday Ride. We will be participating in the Rockwall County Bikes for Tykes Teddy Bear Ride. Meet us on the east side of Lakepointe Church, Rockwall Campus, in the motorcycle parking area at 11:50 (you’ll have to leave service or Bible study just a tad bit early). We will depart promptly in order to avoid the traffic getting out of the church. We will ride to the start of the event together and line up as a group. That will give us time to get registered and grab a snack before the ride starts at 1:00. Registration is a soft toy and $25. See you then!

Hey everybody,

Jimmie Garrett’s celebration of life will be held on October 10th between 2 pm and 5 pm at Jimmie’s son Michael’s house. Michael lives next door to Jimmie. Jimmie was a huge part of LAKEPOINTE Riders and a great friend to many current and former members. We would really like it if as many LAKEPOINTE Riders—current and former— as possible would ride to the celebration together. I know from experience that Jimmie loved it when his friends showed up on their bikes at his house. I think a large number of us showing up on the bikes and making a ruckus would make him so happy. He will be smiling down from Heaven! Even if you don’t ride anymore, we ask that you join us and drive in with us to show support for Jimmie’s family and our love for Jimmie.

Let’s meet at the Tom Thumb at 205 and Dalton Rd (552), near the fuel pumps, at 2:00 pm, KSU 2:15. We will ride straight to Jimmie’s house and park in his driveway then walk across the yard to Michael’s house. Please let any former members you know what the plan is.

We will depart a little earlier than usual in order to beat the traffic out of the church parking lot. So you’ll have to get out of Bible study or service a few minutes early. KSU from the church at 11:50. We will ride to the event together so we can line up as a group and get registered for the ride. Registration is $25 per bike plus an unwrapped soft toy. Join us for our next Third Sunday Ride on September 20th. We will participate in the Rockwall County Bikes for Tykes Teddy Bear Ride. This ride supports the Rockwall County Children’s Advocacy Center. We will meet at our usual spot on the east side of the church in the motorcycle parking area, then ride to the start of the event together so we can line up as a group. Yesterday LAKEPOINTE Riders lost LPR member, Jimmie Garrett. Jimmie meant so much to many of us. He was hilarious, a great cook, and an even better friend. We loved him and will miss him dearly but we are happy for him that he is now with Jesus and his wife, Lorraine. We will post here the details of his funeral when we get them.

We had a great Third Sunday Ride today and probably the best turnout for an August ride ever. Scott lead us to lunch at Smoke Monkey. Thank-you Scott! We had 18 bikes, 23 riders, and one dropped bike in the gravel parking lot, lol. (I was told I fell quite gracefully 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣). Let’s do it again next month (except the dropped bike part). Reminder—this coming Sunday, August 16th is our next Third Sunday Ride. Scott is leading us to lunch at Smoke Monkey after the first service. Come join us! We meet on the east side of Lakepointe Church, Rockwall Campus, in the motorcycle parking area (near entrance 3). This month we are meeting earlier than usual due to the extreme August heat. Meet at 10:45 a.m. KSU 11:00. It will be a short ride to lunch, but we will be open to riding after lunch if folks want to, depending on the heat. See you all Sunday!

Several members of Lakepointe Riders are heading north to ride in the black hills. But don’t worry, we will be back in two weeks for our next Third Sunday Ride. Mark your calendars for August 16th.
