Meet James McLaren (“Mac”) Jonas 💚

Born a legendary 10 lbs 11 oz, Mac was full of life from day one. He was the kid who couldn't be peeled off his dirt bike, loved his cats (and his pet rat!), picked on his little brother only to protect him twice as hard, and lit up every room he walked into.

Mac was smart, athletic, and kind. But like so many, he was carrying hidden weight—navigating ADHD and school bullying in silence. In October 2017, Mac tragically lost his battle with mental health, leaving an irreplaceable gap in the Jonas family and our CrossFit community.
His parents, Tim and his mom, vowed right then and there: Not on our watch. Not another family.

We lift, we push, and we come together at the McLaren Cup to remind everyone:

👉 Mental health matters.
👉 It’s okay to not be okay.
👉 You are never alone in your fight.
