🚨 ROAD CLOSURE ALERT 🚨

Macedonia Road is currently closed at Lancer Drive and Kipling Drive due to a water main break.

Please avoid the area and use an alternate route while crews work to address the issue.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation. Please use caution in the surrounding area.

Yeah chat this traffic stop had a few plot twists 👀

Our officers located the vehicle in the area of 278/Oglesby Road displaying a stolen license plate out of Gwinnett County.

Officers quickly located the vehicle near Brownsville Road and Hiram Lithia Springs Road and began investigating.

That’s when things got interesting!

Officers also discovered the car itself had been reported STOLEN out of East Point.

Officers also located a bottle containing suspected oxycodone in the suspect’s possession.

Great work by our officers for staying alert, digging deeper, and getting another stolen vehicle off the road and headed back where it belongs! 💪🏽🚓

Moral of the story: If the tag doesn’t match, we’re probably going to keep asking questions. 😂

🚨 ROADWAY UPDATE 🚨

The roadway is temporarily open while crews await Cobb EMC to begin work on the damaged power pole. The roadway may need to be closed again once repairs begin.

At this time, there is no estimated time for the repairs to be completed.

Please avoid the area of Macedonia Road at Red Rose Drive. The roadway is currently shut down due to a vehicle collision involving a power pole.

Please use an alternate route and allow emergency crews room to work safely.

🚨 UPDATE: SHE HAS BEEN FOUND SAFE! 🚨

We are happy to report that the missing female we previously asked the community to help locate has been FOUND and safely returned to her parents! 🙏🏾💙

🚨 COMMUNITY UPDATE — NO THREAT TO THE PUBLIC 🚨

We know many of you noticed a heavy police presence this afternoon in the area of Barrett Parkway, Macedonia Road, and Powder Springs Road.

Here’s what happened:

Powder Springs Police Officers, with assistance from the Cobb County Police Department, were actively searching the area for Issac Kindle, who had escaped law enforcement custody from Douglas County, GA.

We’re happy to report that Kindle has been located and is BACK IN CUSTODY. He has since been turned over to Douglas County.

✅ There is NO KNOWN THREAT to the community at this time.

You may still see officers in the area and experience some traffic delays as we work to clear the scene and get traffic moving normally again. We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation while officers worked to bring this situation to a safe conclusion.

A huge thank you to our law enforcement partners who assisted with the search and to our community for working with us while we handled the situation.

Issac Kindle is in custody. The community is safe. Now bear with us while we get this traffic cleared up! 🚔

Our hearts are heavy as we extend our deepest condolences to City of Atlanta Police Department following the tragic loss of Recruit Moses Russ.

Recruit Russ answered the call to serve, a calling that requires courage, sacrifice, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to others. Although his journey toward becoming an Atlanta Police Officer was cut far too short, his dedication to public service and the impact he made will not be forgotten.

The law enforcement community is a family, and when one agency hurts, we all hurt. 💙
