Juniper is proud to support Classical Uprising , and Portland Bach Experience which opens tonight , 5/28, with he Maine premiere of Sarah Kirkland Snider's "Penelope."

Inspired by Homer's Odyssey, "Penelope" tells the story not from Odysseus' perspective, but from the woman waiting at home— weaving, unweaving, and holding everything together.

We cannot wait to see the show, with music that blends "the classical and the contemporary, with lush string writing, hypnotic percussion, and a vocal line that carries the full emotional weight of the story."

Featuring Grammy-nominated vocalist Lauren Kelly.

Penelope will be held...

The brief was cozy + clean, and this coastal kitchen delivered both.

By using a mahogany island and a matching hood vent, we created a grounded hearth-like feeling in the center of the room. The white cabinetry keeps the perimeter feeling expansive, while the sculptural lighting adds a bit of playful personality to the clean lines.

The result is a kitchen that feels just as right for a quiet cup of coffee as it does for a room full of guests.

We think design is at its best when it solves a problem without sacrificing soul.

In this home, we bridged the gap between the clean lines of a modern kitchen and the rugged reality of New England life. Warm wood countertops, a semi-transparent green stain, and integrated storage built to conceal the clutter (muddy boots and all) all work together to turn this small but essential space into something worth noticing.

A bathroom that would make proud 🙂

The cobalt blue vanity paired with gold hardware sets the foundation, while the multicolor Moroccan tile backsplash brings in the joy, echoing Ingrid’s work on how color, pattern, and surprise can turn the everyday into something uplifting. Penny tile floors and globe sconces add a touch of vintage charm, proving how much a little thoughtful design can shift your mood before you’ve even had your coffee.

If you’re into home design and haven’t read Joyful yet, it’s a fascinating look at how the spaces, colors, and objects around us shape our mood and well-being, and how creative design can help create happier everyday lives.

We love moments like this in residential design: when circulation spaces stop being “just hallways and stairs” and start shaping how a home feels. Same detailing. Same architectural language. Two very different experiences.

The best seat(s) in the house. 🍽️ We designed this Casco Bay dining room to feel like an extension of the view. Between the sculptural lighting, the warm wood tones, and that seamless indoor-outdoor flow, this space was made for enjoying slow coastal Maine summer dinners.
