On Friday, PRCC was invited to take part in the Mind and Body Fair at Biddeford High School! π
Our team had the opportunity to share PRCC resources and connect with students throughout the day.
Did you know PRCC recently hired a full time Youth Recovery Coach on staff specifically to support young individuals in recovery? Our Youth Recovery Coach provides encouragement, mentorship, support, and connection to resources for youth navigating challenges related to substance use, mental health, and recovery. Their role is all about meeting young people where they are, building trust, and helping them feel supported and empowered.
Students who visited our table also had the opportunity to collaborate on a community art piece where everyone contribute their creativity and work together to create something meaningful.
Weβre grateful for opportunities like this to engage with young people, promote wellness and recovery, and remind students that support and connection are always available. π

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Here are 3 simple ways to support your mental health in recovery πβ
β
1. Build a routineβ
Structure creates stability. Simple daily habits like waking up at the same time, eating regularly, and scheduling self-care can make a big difference.β
β
2. Drink your waterβ
Nutrition can feel overwhelming with so much information out there. Start simple and focus on staying hydrated. Drinking enough water each day supports both your body and your mind.β
β
3. Get outside dailyβ
Fresh air, sunlight, and a change of environment can improve your mood and reduce stress. Even a short walk can help clear your mind and reset your perspective.β
β
π€ Give yourself grace. Healing isnβt linear, and it looks different for everyone. Be patient with yourself, because every step forward matters.β
β
At PRCC, we offer many ways to support your mental health including yoga, art, 12-step meetings, weekly community potlucks + BBQβs, and so much more!β

Every day, people walk through our doors looking for connection, hope, and a place where they belong. Because of our community, they find it.
This year, due to a significant funding cut, for the first time in our history as a non-profit, PRCC is facing a budget deficit before the close of our fiscal year on June 30th.
Even with these challenges, we remain committed to keeping our doors open 7 days a week and continuing to provide free peer-led recovery support to thousands of Mainers every year.
We are asking for your support before the end of fiscal year, June 30th, to help us close the deficit. This is a lofty goal, but we believe strongly in our mission, our community, and we believe it is possible.
Your support helps us:
π Provide free recovery support groups and peer coaching
π Train and support recovery coaches across Maine
π Keep recovery services accessible to anyone who needs them
π Strengthen recovery communities statewide through the Maine Recovery Hub.
Every dollar truly matters right now. If PRCC has ever impacted you, your family, or your community, we ask you to consider making a gift before June 30th.
Together, we can bridge this gap and ensure recovery remains visible, accessible, and supported in Maine. Imagine, if all 4,000 active members gave $10.00, we would have $40,000 in no time!

PRCC has trained 300 recovery coaches within Maine's Department of Corrections since 2019.β
β
We are deeply grateful for the partnership with DHHS Office of Behavioral Health and Maine Department of Corrections, making it possible for meaningful peer recovery support to be available to incarcerated individuals. β
β
Through this collaboration, PRCC has helped build strong, sustainable recovery communities within Maine's prisons and advancing a shared mission to reduce recidivism and break the stigma surrounding recovery. With an established peer recovery coach program within five prisons, PRCC has stepped back to let the programs flourish. We will continue to support ongoing coach training to ensure program success. β

Staff from PRCC took part in the annual HOPE Conference in Augusta yesterday!
The Maine HOPE Conference is a statewide peer conference for individuals in recovery from mental health challenges and substance use, as well as for service providers. The conference creates opportunities to gain a deeper understanding of recovery and wellness through many different paths and perspectives.
PRCC was honored to connect with organizations from across the state and present our workshop, βFrom Inside Out: Peer Recovery Pathways for Justice-Involved Individuals.β
This workshop gave us the opportunity to highlight the important work being done to support justice-involved individuals on their recovery journey and to share the impact of peer support in creating pathways to healing, hope, and community connection.
We are grateful to everyone who attended, shared their experiences, and continues to support recovery across Maine!
