Wayside Food Programs
Increasing access to nutritious food for our neighbors in Southern Maine since 1986. For more information, or to volunteer, please call 775-4939.
To make a donation of food, please contact Don Morrison at 712-4928.
Although one objective is to increase access to nutritious food, our Community Meals program is distinct because it equally aims to use communal meals to improve social support networks.

If you’ve ever come to Wayside’s warehouse, there’s a good chance you’ve met our Warehouse Manager, Marcus. He brings many years of experience managing product logistics and using power equipment to bridge the gap between goods and people. This experience is applied when supporting Wayside’s kitchen and warehouse. Marcus is passionate about getting to know the folks he works with and building rapport and unique relationships. He is also grateful to our community of volunteers. “The volunteers make it all happen,” says Marcus. “I am in awe of all the volunteers I get the opportunity to work alongside. It is inspiring that people are so generous with their time and choose to spend it finding ways to do good for our community.” You’re the man, Marcus! ❤
A message to our community from Mary & Po.

Hi! We are hiring for a full-time Community Kitchen Assistant. For more information, copy and paste this URL (www.waysidemaine.org/we-are-hiring). Or click the link in the comments. Thanks!
Through collaboration with various partners, Wayside delivers groceries to five neighborhoods each month. Our aim is to support residents who are at risk of food insecurity, but experience barriers to other supplemental food resources due to transportation or mobility challenges.
Every year, we look forward to honoring and celebrating the remarkable individuals who contribute so much to our organization. Wayside volunteers tirelessly support all of our programs, and we could not function without their ongoing dedication to our mission. Each year, the talented and kind individuals at donate their time for the event, creating wonderful appetizers and dinners for our guests. The evening was packed with smiles, delicious food, great music, and engaging conversation. Thank you, Wayside Volunteers. ❤️

This year has reminded us that hunger is about more than food. It is about the impossible choices people are forced to make between basic needs. We also continue to see the power of community in action, with neighbors showing up for one another in meaningful ways. Thank you for being part of that support for Wayside.
Wayside's impact report is our way of celebrating and sharing with you what you have helped make possible in the previous year. To view the 2025 Impact Report, click the link in the comments.
