Our studios are regularly filled with dedicated dance students at all levels, and over the past year we invested in their progress and goals with renewed enthusiasm. This April, acclaimed dance educator Sara Knight visited our studios to teach class to our Company and to our School students. A graduate of Englandโs Royal Ballet School and the Vaganova (Kirov) Ballet Academy, Knight is scheduled to return as an instructor for our 2026 Portland Ballet Summer Intensive.
Video auditions for the PB Summer Intensive will be accepted through June 1st. Find more information and submit your video audition here: https://www.portlandballet.org/pbsi

This year Portland Ballet partnered with many of Maineโs nonprofits, including hospitals, retirement communities, and schools, to share the benefits of arts and movement. Our outreach activities included customized programs, free & discounted tickets, career days, and other activities that expand access to ballet. Over the holidays, we also brought a special presentation of ๐ ๐๐ช๐ค๐ต๐ฐ๐ณ๐ช๐ข๐ฏ ๐๐ถ๐ต๐ค๐ณ๐ข๐ค๐ฌ๐ฆ๐ณ to the Barbara Bush Childrenโs Hospital at Maine Medical Center.

Over the past year, Portland Ballet prioritized bringing ballet experiences to young people across Maine, and we strengthened our partnership with the Youth Leadership Advisory Team, a dynamic group of young leaders and adult partners working to improve outcomes for those in foster care. Through this collaboration, families and volunteers were able to attend performances as our guests, and also enjoy unique behind-the-scenes experiences. Additional programs, such as our School Time shows, connected the classroom to the arts, and brought thousands of students to the ballet this season.
