Business and Communication Career Expo coming up!

Good afternoon, all!

Due to the steady decline in participation and new members, we are considering disbanding the University of West Florida’s chapter of Phi Alpha Delta. Before this happens, as your president I want to give you all a chance to provide your feedback on this decision by emailing me at [email protected]. Reoccurring popular events (Careers in Law Forum, LSAT Prep, Tallahassee Trip, Law School Trip...) would continue to happen through the department. Current members may put participation dates until this Spring on their resume (meaning your participation timeline would end now). Current members’ transition to law school would be the same as if our chapter continued.

Additionally, we will be looking for a new Vice President and Secretary due to our current officers in those positions graduating soon. You may run against the incumbent officers also. PAD’s election for officers for the 2020-2021 school year will be held in the end of March. There will be no election if I do not receive emails of interest within the next two weeks.

Please submit your feedback (including any further explanation you may desire) by Friday, February 21st. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve as your president this school year!

Attention P.A.D. Members - we have cancelled the Initiation ceremony on January 30th. We did not receive any RSVP’s prior to the ceremony. However, we’ll still be holding our general body meeting at 4:30 on January 30, in building 70 room 127. This meeting will go over recent P.A.D. news and upcoming opportunities such as volunteering with teen court, preparing for the Annual Law School Recruitment Forum, and attending our law school trip to Cumberland this Spring. We encourage all members to attend, and there will be free pizza! (Also don’t miss out on the chance to meet and speak with a JAG officer 1-on-1!)

If you are still needing to be initiated into the UWF chapter, we will have another Initiation March 26 (information will be posted to Facebook and/or emailed shortly). Stay tuned!!
