On International Day Against Drug Abuse, we shed light on the dangerous connection between substance use and domestic violence. Research shows that 40-60% of reported abuse situations involve drugs or alcohol, and individuals with a drug use disorder are 4-10 times more likely to perpetrate violence (Source: Connections for Abused Women and their Children).

At SafeHouse, we witness firsthand how addiction can fuel the cycle of trauma. But recovery is possible. Today, we renew our commitment to providing comprehensive support that addresses the complex roots of abuse. Together, we can break the destructive ties between substance abuse and violence, empowering survivors to heal and rebuild lives of freedom.
