Black Diamonds Academic Success Visits Manhattanville University!

Isaiah shared that this was one of his favorite college trips so far… not only because of the food 😋, but especially because of the bonding, laughter, and memories made as a group. He enjoyed exploring the beautiful campus, taking pictures, and finally seeing Manhattanville in person… And of course - THE CASTLE! 🏰

Isaiah said the visit gave him a chance to really consider Manhattanville as a college option in the future. Experiences like these remind our students that college is not just something they see in a brochure… it’s a place they can visit, imagine themselves in, and potentially call home.

A huge thank-you to Manhattanville University for welcoming our students and helping make this trip so special! 🎓💎

Our thanks to Michael Ransom, NYC Procurement Analyst for coming to speak with our guys on Sunday. Thanks for dropping some jewels… "As A Man Thinketh…", "Reshaping the narrative", "Don’t let others believe in you more than you do yourself", '
"Failure is not acceptable when excellence is achievable…."! Looking forward to having you join us again.
It is our responsibility to encourage, inspire and support our young men of color. That’s what WE do…. BDAS Impact!

Our organization grieves with the family of Nolan Xavier Wells! It’s no longer an option to remain silent. Nolan was the kind of young man we want our Black Diamonds to aspire to be like; An intelligent, well mannered, respectful, accountable positive, confident young Black man. Another name added to a long list of young black men. From Emmitt Till, Trayvon Martin, Tamir Rice, Philando Castile, and the list goes on… This brings to mind the words Frederick Douglass said, “Find out just what any people were quietly submit to, and you have found out the exact measure of injustice and wrong, which will be imposed upon them, and these will continue till they are resisted with either words or blows, or both. The limits of tyrants are prescribed by the endurance of those who they oppress“. Silence is compliance. Time to speak out… we must use our words! Asè 🙏🏾❤️✊🏾

💎 Starting the school year with JEWELS! 💎

Black Diamonds Academic Success was honored to welcome Dr. Lyndon J. Mitnaul, Ph.D., Executive Director of RGC Research Initiatives at Regeneron Genetics Center, as our guest speaker today!

Dr. Mitnaul challenged our young men to remember:
💎 What you believe, your mind can achieve.
💎 Choose your friends wisely.
💎 Build your professional network.
💎 Be ready when the door opens.
Our young men were engaged, inspired, and soaking up every jewel! 💎

We are especially grateful for Dr. Mitnaul’s commitment to encouraging more Black men to enter the fields of genetics and STEM. Thank you for not only breaking barriers, but for reaching back and helping the next generation see themselves in places they may have never imagined.

The school year has officially begun—and our Diamonds are ready! 💎📚🎓
