Make camping available year round!

Keep outdoor activities and camping going all 12 months of the year with this cold weather camp training for adults and youth!!

This "Train the Trainer" program will prepare you to share the knowledge and skills to conduct cold weather activities and camping with your units. Learn about cold weather travel, sleep systems, equipment and tents, cooking and nutrition, snow shoes, cross country skiing and outdoor cold weather games.

There are three classroom sessions (one per month on October 4, November 22, and December 6) and one practical weekend campout January 16-17. You must attend all four to complete the course!

All participants must be at least 14 years old & First Class Rank.

Great to see Troop50 come out in numbers to help fellow Scout Aaron K with his Eagle service project to benefit a local homeless shelter. Nice job young man!

Over the past 24 hours the Air Quality Index at Camp Betz and Owasippe Scout Reservation has declined due to smoke from Canadian Wildfires. Conditions are forecast to improve throughout the day and clear up before the weekend.

Additionally, staff remain in communication with the local health agencies and neighboring camps on steps to ensure the safety of all campers.

Some activities have been modified to reduce strenuous outdoor activity until conditions improve. At this time, minimal medical care has been requested in association with pollution.
Individuals who may be at risk of health complications due to air quality should visit their camp office for more information on preventive measures that can be taken to increase safety.
