Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. ***HISTORY***

Lee's Inlet Kitchen is 77 years old! It's unheard of in this area for a restaurant to be operated by the same family in the same location for that long. A huge thanks to the Cox family for visiting us on their annual trip- their 66th year running! We always love to see them coming and like to guess how many they’re bringing, it was 65 folks this year!

Thanks for the shout out!

You’ll find some of South Carolina’s tastiest, local seafood at Lee’s Inlet Kitchen in Murrells Inlet, where the same family has been welcoming hungry guests since 1948. Dinner begins with hot hushpuppies and sweet honey butter before the main plates arrive piled with fried shrimp, oysters, deviled crab, flounder, scallops, and other coastal favorites. Seafood can also be ordered broiled or grilled, giving you plenty of choices beyond the traditional golden-fried platters. One dish that should not be skipped is the rich She Crab Soup, which has won Murrells Inlet’s annual chowder competition seven times. The menu also includes steaks, chicken, homemade desserts, and cocktails for anyone wanting something besides seafood. Lee’s began as a small restaurant with only ten tables and has been enlarged four times as its following grew. Many house recipes, including the hushpuppies, onion rings, shrimp salad, and sauces, have been passed down through the family. The kitchen still hand-peels as much as 150 pounds of fantail shrimp in a day, while its shrimp, crab, and flounder come from Carolina shores. It is easy to understand why Murrells Inlet proudly carries the nickname “Seafood Capital of South Carolina.”
