Take a chance on a cat in need of a home ♥

After a LOT of physical and emotional rehab, our 'cereal cats' are ready to be adopted! These brave little guys and gals hadn't met a lot of people before they came to the shelter and needed a lot of support from staff and volunteers to become happy and healthy. Now, finally, they are all ready for their forever homes.

As you can tell, they were quite unsure about humans when they first arrived. And, understandably, they still are. But we have seen them become more and more brave each day. Because they are still shy around people, they like to hide around newcomers during our adoption hours. But when the shelter is quiet and they are surrounded by the humans they are comfortable with, they come alive to play and ask for pets. The shelter can be stressful for cats, but if you're willing to take a chance on one of these guys and give them a lot of patience, once comfortable they each have a unique and beautiful personality of their own.

Meet them tonight, at our adoption hours, 4:30-6:30. Note that these cats are cat-dependent, meaning they require a cat friend in their new home to help them with their confidence and bravery.

Happy Grandparents Day to all the wonderful grandparents out there!

Pictured are our own personal shelter grandparents - Pluto Retrograde and Hallie. Just because they are old (17 and 18, respectively) does not mean they are any less deserving of a home! Pluto Retrograde is a wise old lady who's been through a lot, as you can see. But she has a lot to say about it, just like Hallie, our other resident grandparent. They both enjoy spending most of the day napping - emerging every once and a while for food and pets (I wish I could also nap all day and only come out to snack!).
