This week is Winter Salt Awareness Week! Road salt is toxic to freshwater organisms and it enters their environment via runoff. As snow melts or rain falls, road salt gets washed into storm drains and ends up in rivers, lakes, and streams, where it impacts the organisms that call those waterways home.

❄️Request a free Salt Watch kit to find out how much salt is in the rivers, lakes, and streams near you: www.saltwatch.org
