Congratulations to Clay Grisius on being tapped as a 2022 Virginia 4-H All Star! Clay was selected for Governorβs School this summer, so he was unable to attend the tapping ceremony at State 4-H Congress. Instead, he came down for the 100th VA 4-H All Star Conference this past weekend and was tapped alongside nine other Virginia 4-H youth members.

VCE Loudoun 4-H kicked off the Loudoun-Fauquier 4-H Junior Camp last week! We are thrilled that 235 campers and 58 teen counselors joined us to try new things, swim, sing by the campfire, and enjoy the great outdoors. Look at those smiling faces!

We had a spectacular time at the 100th State 4-H Congress last week on the campus of Virginia Tech! Delegates enjoyed interactive workshops, competitions, outstanding entertainment, social events, and even fireworks on the drillfield! π

Last night we hosted a Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) certification training for our local 4-H youth. We had over 65 participants ranging in age from 8-19 years old. π

Last night, members of the 4-H Honor Council spent a portion of their monthly meeting sorting through all of the books received through their book drive. ππ
Over 160 books were donated! The books are all packaged up now and will be delivered to Loudoun Literacy Council later this week.

VCE Loudoun 4-H, with support from the Loudoun County Public Schools Science Department, organized the 4-H Beginning of Life Embryology Program; a fun and engaging way for youth to learn about biology and life sciences. This year, 4-H staff worked with teachers across 57 LCPS schools and provided over 1,200 eggs so students could watch chicks hatch and learn first-hand about life. On Sunday, our 4-H members joined together for a βDay of Serviceβ at the Loudoun Fairgrounds! Thanks to Loudoun Fair & Associates for their support of Loudoun County 4-H Programs.

As part of a local community service project, Loudoun County 4-H members recently donated supplies to create 65 Easter baskets for the residents of Spring Arbor Nursing Home. Project Leader and Virginia 4-H Youth in Action Pillar Winner Eleni Kasianides delivered the baskets on April 15th. The residents were all excited and grateful to receive their baskets! Now that Spring Arbor is beginning to open back up for programming, 4-H members will hopefully be able to visit again soon. ππ£πΈ

This week, VCE Loudounβs 4-H kicked off our embryology program with LCPS! 17,913 students are incubating 1,840 eggs! π₯π£ Weβre happy to see kids get eggs-cited about learning as they relate their studies to real life!
