"Drivin’ Daughters and Parkinson's" is the story of my experience with Parkinson's Disease. Diagnosed 21 years ago with Adult Early Onset Idiopathic Parkinson’s Disease, just two weeks after my 30th birthday, this is a no-holds-barred account of day to day living with Parkinson's, wrapped around my sometimes crazy, hysterical life. "Drivin' Daughters and Parkinson's" is essential reading for all people living with Parkinson's or those who have been touched by this disease. Described as "...a fantastic guide for people navigating themselves through the Parkinson's journey..." by the CEO of the Shake It Up Foundation in Australia, "Drivin' Daughters and Parkinson's" is available on-line and at all good book retailers.

Hello! We are starting a home-based exercise program for persons with Parkinson's disease. If you are interested, please contact me at [email protected].
This is my husband, Paul... Just looking at his outward appearance and the phenomenal shape he is in, no one would ever know that he has been diagnosed with Parkinson's for ten years. With his amazing inner strength and dedication to strength training daily, it has without a doubt slowed down his progression of PD symptoms over the past 10 years.

This past year has been tough for him, as he had fought the fight as long as he could and had to go on disability, which took a toll on his self esteem. However, he still followed his passion by getting his personal training certificate to train and volunteer to help others with their health goals and hopefully spread the word of the benefits of strength training while having PD.

As we all know that PD is mostly an internal disease, and the outward appearance and perception is not necessarily reality with what they deal internally, emotionally and mentally.

I just want my husband to know how very proud I am of all his inner strength, faith in God and continuing to fight the fight! He is the love of my life and I will always be there for him!
April begins Month! The Tanner Foundation supports individuals living with MS, ALS AND Parkinson's disease. But another great resource locally is the Parkinson Association of Alabama .
