Rocking J Ranch High Ridge

Rocking J Barrel Racers competed at Flickerwood Arena, this past weekend and we're just out of the money. Proud of their hard work and try. We see them growing more every time. So blessed to be able to have awesome riders, equipment and awesome barrel horses! Here's some highlights.

Officially weaning cash and Legacy today. Their new corral mate is Jimmy the mini.

Officially weaning the 2 colts , starting today.
Prayers for the mom's milk to ease and dry up with no infections or hard encouragement in their utters.

After many years of offering trail rides to the public we will no longer offer them here at our ranch. Our main focus will be horse camps and barrel racing introduction and training. We recommend contacting the Boy Scouts as they still offer trail riding. Thank you for the many years of support and have a wonderful 4th of July and God bless!

Dont worry about horses and mules with cougars

Deep in the Arizona wilderness — What started as a routine hunt quickly turned into a life-or-death encounter.
Unbeknownst to the group, they were being silently stalked by a mountain lion for hours. Then, without warning, it struck. But the most shocking moment wasn’t the ambush—it was the mule’s reaction.

Sensing the threat, the mule threw its rider and charged head-on at the predator. Horses scattered. Gunshots rang out—though it's unclear if any hit their target.

The real showdown? Mule vs. mountain lion. Fierce. Brutal. Unbelievable.

By the time anyone grabbed a camera, it was almost over. And there stood the mule—scratched, bloodied… but victorious.
