🐾 Welcome Abigail to Yorkie Luv Rescue!

This sweet girl just turned 1 year old this June and is full of love, energy, and puppy fun. She loves toys, other dogs, cuddles, and being by your side.

Abby is still working on potty training and puppy manners, but she’s a smart girl who is eager to learn.

Before Abby can be available for adoption, she needs a veterinary exam, updated vaccinations, and her spay surgery. She is not currently accepting adoption applications.

💕 Please consider making a donation to help Abby receive the veterinary care she needs. Every donation, big or small, helps bring her one step closer to finding her forever home. Thank you for supporting Yorkie Luv Rescue! 🐾

Please welcome Malcolm to Yorkie Luv Rescue. This little guy has lived a life of neglect, and was so lucky get to us when he did last week, because he was close to death. He spent the week hospitalized, which delayed us posting him because we were so focused on keeping him alive. Sadly, his condition was so horrible that he quickly became lateral and mostly unresponsive after he got to his foster, and his prognosis was poor at the beginning. While he has a very long road ahead of him, and his future is unknown, he has proven to be a fighter.
Sweet Malcolm was named after his foster's amazing Great Grandfather because he was one of the strongest people she's ever known. He is tiny with an emaciated body condition score of 1-1.5/9, his lower jaw has rotted away and he requires syringe feeding right now, and he has some neurological deficits, among other issues. His heart rate is still very low and his blood glucose levels are being monitored because they are low as well. He received dextrose and B complex while hospitalized, and is getting vitamin B12 injections, along with meds to help his GI system wake up from being starved.
We are still working on stabilizing him and he is currently requiring subcutaneous fluids daily because he cannot maintain his hydration. He's needing a prescription GI diet via syringe feedings every 4 hours and is on a strict refeeding plan from the vet who saw him on emergency to prevent refeeding syndrome.
Once he has gained a few pounds, he will be needing an extensive dental, and we expect him to need a mandibulectomy (definitely partial, but he will likely need his entire mandible removed). He will also need to be neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, etc.
Malcolm has a team of amazing vets at multiple hospitals, along with his foster and the rest of us at Yorkie Luv Rescue fighting along with him, but any help with his ongoing care is very much appreciated.

Please note that he has a very long and uncertain road and we are not accepting applications for him.

Any assistance for his medical is greatly appreciated!

Hello Yorkieluvers!!! As you know yorkies and other fur babies are known for their unconditional love and big personalities. Often we are faced with medical cost due to the age and condition of the fur baby. Please if you are able donate $5 or any amount you are able to. 100% of donations are used on the animal. Let’s show them that they are part of our lives and we appreciate them and love them with our heart!! Thank you ❤️
