The Learning Tree

Preschool is serious business… it just doesn’t always look very serious.

This week our classrooms were full of little hands painting, experimenting, creating, building, balancing, drawing, exploring, and working together.

Behind all that colorful mess is so much learning—fine and gross motor skills, problem solving, creativity, language, confidence, friendships, and the freedom to wonder “what happens if I do THIS?”

We love getting to give our students a place where they can learn with their whole bodies, make a little mess, take chances, and discover just how capable they are.

And judging by these pictures… a very good week was had at The Learning Tree.

The 3s spent the first part of playground time yesterday completely captivated by the City of Georgetown crew removing a sign! 🚧

They watched as the crew pressure-washed away the dirt to uncover the concrete, used a giant wet/dry vacuum to clean everything up, and then brought out a chipping hammer to break apart the concrete. The children even cheered when the sign finally came out! 🎉

The sweetest part was when one of the employees stopped what he was doing to answer their questions and explain the whole process. We love when an ordinary moment turns into an unexpected learning experience! 💛

What a wonderful first week of school! 🍎✏️

It was so nice to welcome everyone back and see our classrooms filled with smiling faces, laughter, learning, and lots of fun. Our students and teachers had such a successful first week, and we are incredibly proud of how well everyone settled into their new routines!

Thank you to our amazing families and staff for helping us start the school year on such a positive note. We are so excited for everything this year has in store!

We can’t believe the first day of school is TOMORROW!

Our staff has worked so hard during In-Service getting classrooms ready, preparing for the year ahead, and making sure everything is ready to welcome our students back. We also made time for a little team building with a petting zoo, which was definitely a highlight of the week!

It was so nice seeing so many of our families at Meet the Teacher! Seeing familiar faces, meeting new families, and watching our students explore their classrooms made us even more excited to get this school year started.

We are so thankful for the time, energy, and love our teachers and staff have poured into preparing for this year, and we are READY for tomorrow!

Here’s to a year full of learning, laughter, friendships, growth, and so many sweet memories.

Our Learning Tree team spent the last two days at the Committed to Kids Conference learning from incredible speakers, gathering fresh ideas, and investing in the children and families we are blessed to serve.

As we prepare for a new school year, we’re excited to bring everything we’ve learned back into our classrooms. Thank you for trusting us with your little ones. We can’t wait to welcome both new and returning families and make this our best year at the Tree yet!

This week, we’re celebrating the incredible teachers who pour so much love, patience, creativity, and care into our little learners each day.

At The Learning Tree, we are endlessly thankful for the teachers who help children feel safe, confident, curious, and deeply loved.

And as Mother’s Day approaches this weekend, we’re also celebrating all the moms, grandmothers, caregivers, and mother figures who partner with us in raising these sweet children.

Thank you for trusting us with your little ones each day. We are so grateful for our Learning Tree families and staff.

We have just a few spots remaining in our Bridge to Kindergarten class for the upcoming school year!

All other classes are currently full.

Our Bridge to Kindergarten program is designed for children who have completed Pre-K but would benefit from an extra year to grow in confidence, social skills, and school readiness before heading into kindergarten.

If you have a child who has completed Pre-K and are interested in learning more about this program, we would love to connect with you. Please reach out to our office for more information!

We had so much fun at our annual Easter Hat Parade this week!
Our Pre-K and 3s classes loved showing off their creations to the younger classes and parading in the sanctuary for our parents.

So many sweet smiles, creative hats, and proud little moments. We love these traditions so much.

We have been having so much fun enjoying spring!

The kids have loved all things bugs, outside, and Easter, from measuring earthworms to growing our pumpkins, the excitement of seeing our caterpillars arrive, playing outside, and enjoying our egg hunts.

Don’t forget about the Hat Parade coming up this Thursday for our older classes!
