From June to July to August, it’s been a busy summer full of new arrivals, fittings, events, behind-the-scenes moments, and plenty of golf.
As we wrap up summer and head into fall, we just want to say thank you to everyone who continues to shop local, stop by, follow along, and support The Golf Ranch. We’re grateful to have such an awesome golf community around us!

Are shaft launch profiles a myth? Yes… and no. 👀
We hear golfers come in all the time saying, “I think I need a high-launching shaft because I hit the ball too low.” We tested a high-, mid-, and low-launching shaft, and the launch numbers were nearly identical. Why? Because how a player loads and reacts to the shaft can override what that shaft is “supposed” to do.
So, what does “high launching” actually mean? Generally, a high-launching shaft is softer and designed to create more tip deflection at impact, adding dynamic loft and potentially producing a higher launch. But what’s even more important in shaft fitting is the profile—where the shaft is softer and where it’s stiffer.
This is why fitting isn’t about picking a shaft labeled “high launch” just because you hit the ball low. It’s about finding the profile that feels right, matches how you load the club, and produces the best numbers.
Moral of the story: Don’t fit the label. Fit the golfer. 🏌️
