Meigs County Museum is operated by Meigs County Historical Society in Decatur, Tennessee. The museum includes permanent displays of artifacts about Meigs County, TN history, murals depicting the town of Decatur in the early 1930's to 1940's, a genealogy room for family and county research and much, much more.

Meigs County Historical Society will meet tomorrow, Sunday August 23rd at 2PM. Everyone is invited. Come join us as we learn more about our county’s history.

Ms Edna Carpenter shared this picture with her Sunday School Class the week before she died. She was excited to have members name people in the picture.

We extend our sympathy to the family of Mrs Edna Carpenter. Mrs Edna was a supporter of the Historical Society. She had served as a Home Demonstration Agent and Home Economics teacher for many years in Meigs County.
She faithfully served her church and her community for many many years.
As we celebrate the 190th birthday of Meigs County we want to get to know our people.
