The John B. Denton Chapter's marquee event, the Reading of the Constitution, is this Thursday at the Wise County Veterans Park from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Please join us! Members of our Chapter, as well as community members, will read the entire Constitution and its amendments, followed by the nationwide Ringing of the Bells. This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our Constitution and share its importance with our community.

We already have our readers assigned, but we always have last minute cancellations, so if you want to be a substitute reader, email [email protected]. You don't have to read but can just come enjoy the event, and we do hope to see you there so we can have a great turnout!

The America 250 County Wide Celebration is almost here! 🎉 Join us Saturday, September 12th from 5:00–10:00 PM in Downtown Decatur for a night full of food, music, family fun & celebrating America! ❤️🤍💙

A few things to know before you head downtown:

🚗Parade begins at 6pm
🍻 BYOB — Please, NO glass containers
🪑 Bring your lawn chairs and find a spot to enjoy the evening!
🐾 We love our four-legged friends, but with the crowds, music & activities, we kindly ask that you leave pets safe and comfortable at home.
🎈 Kid Zone will be located on State Street
🎶 Andrea Smith is playing at 7:30PM followed by The Pony Express Band
🎶 The Pony Express Band will be bringing the live music!
🛍️ Downtown Decatur shops & restaurants will be open late, so be sure to stop in and support our local businesses!
