COACH POWELL | 2025–2026 SEASON RECAP
Leadership. Development. Love. Results.

Coach Derrick Powell Jr. and the Calhoun Men’s Basketball program put together a season that made history — on the court, in the classroom, and in the lives of young men.

🏆 ACCC Player of the Year & All-American
🏆 Most wins in 24 years
🏆 2026 ACCC Final Four | 1st playoff win in 24yrs
🎓 100% Graduation Rate & All graduates received offers to a 4yr

But the numbers only tell part of the story…

Coach Powell’s impact goes beyond basketball —
It’s about coagulation, building men, creating opportunity, establishing a culture that lasts, working hard, and increasing your PRICETAG! Passionately doing these things brings wins on the court as well as in life💙

After four years at the helm of the Warhawks:
The reputation is rising.
The culture is growing.
The Warhawk Way continues.
And young men are WINNING by living PRICETAG.

Congratulations, Sayiid!
He went from a boy to a man. His two years as a Warhawk were filled with resiliency, learning, growth, and maturity.
Oakwood got a great player — high-IQ stretch 4, shot blocker, solid student, and best of all, a good, responsible young man.

We are proud of the person you’ve become and excited to watch what you accomplish at the next level.
Once a Warhawk, always a Warhawk!
Keep soaring, Sayiid!

CONGRATULATIONS Porch - Guntersville AL!
Known for shooting the ball “from the back porch” and being the “first to the floor” Jackson embodies what hard work and consistency look like.

He went from wearing #20 to #7, embracing the mindset of always striving for perfection. His commitment showed in the classroom, where he earned a 4.0 GPA, while also leading the ACCC in 3-pointers made/%, knocking down 79 threes in only one year.

His shooting form may be unorthodox, but his consistency, confidence, work ethic, and dedication are anything but.

Through countless hours of repetition and a relentless pursuit of improvement, Jackson has established himself as the best three-point shooter in Calhoun Men’s Basketball modern-day history.

He is a true example of “TALK LESS. DO MORE.”
This local leader didn’t just talk about making an impact — he went out and did it!!
2025-2026 He broke records, made history & raised the standard. Keep soaring Jordan!
