Last week we talked about being Born of the Spirit. This Sunday we'll explore what it means to be Filled By Him.

God never intended His people to live spiritually empty. Join us as we discover the difference between merely having life and living filled with the power and presence of the Holy Spirit.

Come expectant.

⛵ The wind is invisible. You can't see it. But you can see what it moves.

The same is true of the Holy Spirit.

Jesus compared the Spirit to the wind. You may not always see what God is doing, but you can see the effects.

❧ A changed attitude.
❧ A restored relationship.
❧ A faithful heart.
❧ A growing desire for God.

You don't have to understand every movement of the wind. Just keep your sail up and let Him lead.

"Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation." — 2 Corinthians 5:17

Faithfulness isn't flashy. It's showing up. Keeping your word. Staying planted. Trusting God when nobody is watching.

Anyone can be faithful for a moment. God calls us to be faithful for a lifetime.

The same Spirit who gives us new birth also produces faithfulness in us. Join us tonight for dinner (Hotdogs and Brats), fellowship, and Bible study for the whole family.

On Sunday, we sang one of the great hymns of the faith:

"Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!"

And perhaps one of the most powerful line is this: "This is my story. This is my song."

You see, every believer has a story. Every believer has been baptized in the Spirit. Every believer is a part of the Body of Christ. And that is something worth celebrating. Maybe your story is dramatic. Maybe it's quiet. Maybe God rescued you from a life of addiction, fear, or brokenness. Maybe He patiently drew you to Himself over many years.

But if you have been born of His Spirit and washed in His blood, YOU have a story worth telling. Your story isn't about how bad you've been and it is certainly not about how good you are.

It's about how good God has been.

Jesus told Nicodemus, “You must be born again.”

Not improved.
Not reformed.
Not simply more religious.

Born Again.

Just as physical birth brings us into physical life, spiritual birth brings us into spiritual life.

The Christian life doesn’t begin with trying harder. It begins with receiving new life from God.

You don’t become a child of God by turning over a new leaf.

You become a child of God by receiving a new life.

“That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” — John 3:6
