Shaker vs. raised panel — which style is right for your home?

Shaker cabinets have a flat center panel with a simple recessed frame, which is exactly why they work in almost any style of home — modern farmhouse, transitional, even contemporary spaces where too much ornamentation would clash. Raised panel cabinets have a beveled, three-dimensional center panel that adds visual depth and reads as more traditional and formal.
