Not much is blooming, but so much is happening in the flower patch…
While we wait for the beauty of blooms that will soon encompass the entire patch, for now we tend to all the behind the scenes work…The Flower Patch at Steele Farms will soon be open for you to pick, but until then, we watch and we wait!!!

This audio made me laugh so hard, but at the same time, I think it’s perfectly fitting for the thoughts running through my head as I am trying to watch a puppy so he doesn’t wander off and get jobs done at the same time…Ask me how that multitasking is going…🤣Good thing Nash is so cute!

Well-Here it is! I am asking if any of YOU want to enjoy the beautiful flower patch by offering your help for an hour and in return, getting to pick a beautiful bouquet to take home for free! This can be something you agree to do once, or you could be someone I call on weekly to help get some of the not so fun jobs done more quickly! There may even be times where I ask you to come help me pick flowers to donate to local charitable organizations as a way to give back! Most often this work is done in the morning before it’s too hot, but occasionally we can schedule evening or even mid day sessions if it works best for the group! If you have an interest, shoot me a message and I will take your contact information for when the time draws near for action!!

We laid our plastic mulch this week and I think it may have gone the most smoothly of any year so far! We have a pretty good system of working together to get the job done and it actually doesn’t take very long at all to lay all 19 rows! Next comes flower planting! Hoping to start in the next few days but right now, we are keeping all of our farmer clients rolling over at Steele Seeds and that takes precedence!

Flower bed prep is finally under way! We were dry enough to fertilize and till last night and are hoping this afternoon to be able to put down drip irrigation and plastic mulch so that when it’s officially “go time” we are ready!
