Keep waterers from freezing This is not only simple, but beneficial to your poultryAll it takes is some MOLASSES
Our ducks LOVE mice.
Some peanut butter bait and a bucket of water will feed some of out ducks with "treats"
Took this video in the summer of 2024 (as I did many) but I never post any - I think I will start just randomly post some of the ones I made without editing, just for fun - I love looking back on some of my animals in these older videos 😀
Many emus are spooked easily or have issues with loud noises. We not only have a shooting range in one of our pastures that we at times hold events in, but often use loud equipment around them. From very early on, we give them treats as they come around to where the loud noises are. To this day, when they see people or hear loud noises, they congregate to where it is or to the gate to receive treats. A great way to desensitize your animals and help them not get too spooked at the very minimum. 🤔
We moved some (not so noisy) equipment today but the result is still the same.

For our homestead we currently have eggs, breads and sourdough/starter for this season. Breads are baked weekly and available for pickup within 1-2 days of order
We'd like to start this new year off in promoting a resilient local food system to serve the needs of Northeast Indiana farmers, food entrepreneurs and families by highlighting the 11 counties we serve! Each month this year we'll highlight 1 county, starting with Adams County.
You can find all the info on these wonderful farmers, and community organizations who support our local food system in our Local Food Guide at https://www.neifood.org/shop
Please share this post! And, if you know of any farmers, restaurants who source local, food entrepreneurs or community organizations who you think should be added you can comment tagging them or pass along the info to our Local Food Outreach Coordinator at [email protected].

I just want to turn the clock back for a while -
Miss those goats!!- Especially Itti ❣️❤️🩹-
I must say however that they have found loving new homes and I know they are in good hands
I love the goats I have now, but nothing will ever replace Itty's presents.

Thank you, Sheila Ruley.
Your one batch of sour cherries just got turned into Cherry jam.
If it sets nicely by the morning, I'll be happy, as I made it in a very unconventional way. Did not pit the cherries until after the jam was done, just ran it through the ricer.
