If you know of a high school senior who is planning to pursue veterinary medicine, please share. Dr. Parr and I were both early entry students. If accepted, early entry students are guaranteed acceptance to veterinary school and are able to start veterinary school early. It is hard to beat, and is the reason I went to MSU from Alabama and Dr. Parr went from Texas. Not to mention, I feel that the training and experience at Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine is far and away the best available and is unmatched in producing veterinarians that are prepared to practice high level medicine on day one of their careers. - Dr. G

Our DVM Early Entry Program applications will open on September 1st!

This program allows high-achieving high school seniors to earn pre-approved acceptance into the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine DVM program. If accepted, students will complete prerequisites within one of MSU’s undergraduate degree programs.

Beautiful Mango came in today for having gone 3 weeks with no BM. Abdominal palpation revealed firm material in the colon confirmed on radiographs. Dr. G was able to manually break up and move the material which stimulated a BM. There were 2 large dry urate plugs followed by a fairly normal stool. The urate plugs felt like a piece of chalk and crumbled like chalk. This was most likely due to dehydration, so Mango will now be receiving daily warm water soaks to be sure things keep on movin! πŸ‘¨β€βš•οΈπŸ¦Ž

*Exciting News*
With the addition of Dr. Parr, we are finally at a point where we are no longer booking weeks/months out, so we are in a position to begin taking in new clients. At this time, we are limiting new client appointments to routine healthy puppy/kitten and adult wellness visits. Of course, once established, we will see these patients for sick visits as well.

In an effort to preserve our amazing clinic culture of the BEST clients in veterinary medicine (truly...I read horror stories daily in my owners' groups and can't relate! - Dr.G) we are asking that any new clients be referred by a current client and will be accepting new clients on a case by case basis for now with a verbal referral from a current client. We hope that by doing this we can keep our neighborhood family practice vibe and also keep our staff from getting overwhelmed!

We can't wait to welcome our new clients and patients to the BAC family!

It has been one month since Dr. Parr joined our team, and what an amazing month it has been! Amongst her many contributions to our practice is this new sign being modeled by adorable little Maggie 😍. Bryan Animal Clinic has entered our "cute" era, and we are here for it! πŸ€—

Please be sure to ask for your pet's photo op while in the office (especially if seeing Dr. G as he is a slow adoptor to change... 🀣), and if you have had a visit with Dr. Parr please comment to let her know what a fantastic job she has done this first month! πŸ’™πŸ’™

✨️Introducing your new favorite neighborhood vet!✨️

We are SO excited for you all to meet Dr. Parr who will begin seeing patients TOMORROW πŸŽ‰πŸŽŠπŸ‘©β€βš•οΈβš•οΈ

β€œMy name is Dr. Morgan Parr and I am very excited to be joining the team at Bryan Animal Clinic! I attended Mississippi State University for my undergraduate degree and my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine, just like Dr. Greenbaum. There, I developed a passion for spaying, neutering, and I have a special love for feline patients.

In my free time, I love to bake, hike, and hang out with my husband, Jack, and our mischievous cat, Rip. I look forward to caring for the animals of Decatur, Alabama!”
