From the hospital to camp, Pryce brings the same heart, care, and connection to everything she does 💛

As a music therapist at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, she builds meaningful relationships with patients every day and wanted to see those same kids experience the joy of camp. Now heading into her second summer at Camp Sunshine, she’s capturing those moments as a camp photographer during Teen Week.

Through her lens, she witnesses it all: first zipline rides, big fears turned into brave moments, and friendships forming in real time.

“There’s something about camp where everyone becomes each other’s biggest cheerleader.”

That spirit doesn’t end at camp, it carries into her work every day, reminding kids they are so much more than their diagnosis.

This Volunteer Appreciation Week, we’re celebrating volunteers who help create a space where kids feel seen, supported, and free to just be kids ✨

For 40 years, Susan has been part of the magic that makes Camp Sunshine so special 💛

What started as a one-week volunteer opportunity in 1986 quickly became a lifelong commitment — and she hasn’t missed a summer since.

From teaching pottery and firing kilns to helping campers create pieces their families treasure for years, Susan pours her heart into every detail. Whether she’s making sure projects are ready to take home or hosting “Susan’s Salon” for a cabin full of 7-year-olds, she brings care, joy, and a whole lot of love to camp.

“Camp is the world as we wish it to be. The world as it should be.”

This Volunteer Appreciation Week, we’re celebrating incredible volunteers like Susan who create a space where kids can build confidence, find belonging, and simply have fun. ✨

The Sally J. Hale Scholarship is accepting applications until May 1st! 🌟
We encourage all childhood cancer survivors who are graduating high school or continuing their education in college, technical, or trade school to apply. This scholarship is one more way Camp Sunshine is honored to support campers as they take their next steps and chase their dreams.

Julie has been part of the Camp Sunshine family since attending her first program in 2018, and we’ve loved watching her grow over the years. This year, she’s bringing her energy and talent to the Sunshine Showcase stage with a tap dance performance that’s sure to light up the room!
