In Trump’s America, money buys access. Access buys influence. And influence too often becomes the law for everyone else. Innovation should not be a luxury that only the wealthy can afford and I am determined to not allow the USPTO to be sucked into that swamp.
Republicans are more focused on lowering voter turnout and lowering taxes for the rich instead of lowering the cost of living for everyday Americans.

I’ll be heading back to D.C. soon, but I like to think we made sure August Recess was in GA-04.
Are we a little late to the trend? Absolutely. But we were a little busy working.
From oversight visits and Passport Day to Week of H.O.P.E., grants workshops, connecting with local organizations, and National Night Out, we kept busy serving the people of .
Congress might have been on “recess,” but we never stop working for the good people of Georgia’s Fourth.
The prosecution of Rep. LaMonica McIver is deeply troubling. Members of Congress have a constitutional responsibility to conduct oversight, particularly when we are confronted with serious questions about the treatment of people in federal custody.
After visiting the Stewart Detention Facility last week, I saw firsthand the deplorable conditions that demand scrutiny — not silence. When conditions are unacceptable, our responsibility is to ask questions and seek answers.
I stand with Rep. McIver. We cannot allow this administration to weaponize the Department of Justice to intimidate members of Congress into silent submission and undermine our constitutional responsibility to conduct oversight.

Congressman Johnson Denounces SCOTUS Decision Opening Door for Trump’s Attacks on Mail-in Ballots Ahead of November Elections
While the recent ruling cleared the path for Trump to attack mail-in ballots, there are 2 cases pending that could stop the administration in their tracks. Either way, injecting needless uncertainty into our elections this week is proof that we need court reform now.
I’m deeply saddened at the news that Dolly Parton has passed away. A brilliant and prolific songwriter and a generous, authentic and compassionate woman, she will be missed. “I Will Always Love You”.
